“I had always wanted to be fit and healthy, but I never knew how to go about it. I would tell myself that I needed to start working out and be healthy... then I would do that for about a week or two and then go back to my old habits. I just wanted someone to tell me exactly what to do and how to do it. And that is exactly what Leslie did for me. It was so great to have someone to give me specific instructions every week about how to live a healthier lifestyle. In addition, it was great to just be able to talk comfortably one on one. I now had someone to hold me accountable and someone who really cared about helping me make better choices. Leslie not only helped me with the nutrition and physical aspect of health, but she also helped me destress my life, leading me to a happier outlook on life. About two months into our weekly talks, I found out I was pregnant. Leslie was so willing to modify my workouts and spent lots of time helping me find ways to be the healthiest I could be while pregnant. She helped me throughout my pregnancy, and I felt good about myself and good about leading a healthy life for my baby. I really loved working with Leslie and I am so thankful.”
Why is Leslie the best person to guide you?
In 2016, my husband and I decided that we were ready to start our family.
And much to my surprise. . .
It was not as easy to grow our family as high school gym teachers would lead one to believe. . .
I was 27 and surprised (as I think most couples are) when things weren’t going as we’d planned.
But what exactly was I supposed to be doing?
I did my best, and then late in my pregnancy I enrolled in my first advanced certification for prenatal and postpartum corrective exercise.
That course changed my life.
Why doesn’t someone tell this to EVERY pregnant woman?!
Once I knew, I couldn’t “unsee” that we have vastly under served the needs of women in childbearing years.
I couldn’t sit idly by while I knew that other women felt confused, anxious, alone, and fearful about everything surrounding birth. It doesn’t need to be that way, our actions have such a profound influence on our experience.
But as I worked with women in the movement aspect of pregnancy, I realized that they wanted to move well not just to stay strong and out of pain, but also to prep for birth. Plus, I was getting general questions about pregnancy specific nutrient needs that I wasn’t equipped to answer.
I’d love for women able to work with a coach for fitness, nutrition, lifestyle, and birth, but it’s just not accessible for most women to have coaches for all of that.
So I became all of them. All to fulfill my mission of serving fellow Christian family-growing women in a wide range of needs so that they could feel completely supported throughout their entire pregnancy journey.
And that my friends, is how my whole business was born. If this all sounds good to you, I encourage you to schedule a call with me. I’d be honored to walk this road with you.
Leslie
Do you ever wish you had someone to walk this whole journey with you?
Of course you have! We all have, and you DO need support, guidance, and encouragement.
The problem is that it’s not accessible to get support in all of the areas that you’d love some assistance: like childbirth education, healthy living, exercise, and mental prep for birth to name a few.
UNTIL NOW!
(It’s exciting to be dramatic like that)
But seriously, I’ve built The Proactive Pregnancy System to be the ONLY (that I’ve ever heard of) coaching program for pregnant women that’s a combo off all the things that pregnant women ask about the most.
The Proactive Pregnancy System is for every expecting Christian woman who just wants to leave the overwhelm, stress, and overthinking behind her.
Who is serious (even if a little intimidated) about prioritizing making healthier choices right now (and no, they don’t need to be perfect!).
Who wants to do her best and still be able to roll with the ups-and-downs of pregnancy.
So if you want to join a coaching program that will give you guidance, make you feel supported, help you sort through your fears about childbirth, develop healthier habits that you’ll carry on into motherhood, and feel less stress and overwhelm in the process.
Then you, mama, are in the right place.
You’ll be supported to. . .
Create a birth plan that reflects your values and addresses your concerns
Be active in a way that you enjoy and works for your physical changes
Quickly assess the quality of all the foods that you’re eating
Set up a sleep routine so that you can actually get some shut eye before the baby is born
Practice breath work and proper pelvic floor engagement to prepare your body for birth
Get into mindset work to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for birth
Create routines and rhythms that allow you to take care of your health while you continue to live your life
And the best part is that I will always remind you to keep your priorities straight: keep God first and deepen your relationship with Him, and also commit to your relationship with your husband.
Even with all the baby excitement, you can’t truly thrive if the most important relationships in your life aren’t flourishing.
Do you ever feel like?
Every opinion and recommendation that you hear conflicts with the last one.
You never seem to actually implement your plans for healthy living.
You have to become a prenatal expert in a bunch of different fields just to figure out what to do.
You’re overwhelmed with all the choices that you need to make, and a part of you wishes you could just. . . not.
You just want things to be simple so that you can relax and enjoy the time .
Just when it’s extra important to be healthy, it’s also extra challenging with fatigue, nausea, aversions, and all the other things.
I get it. I was there too.
So how does coaching work?
I’m so glad you asked
Coaching is a collaborative process of developing motivations, exploring priorities, brainstorming options, creating a plan, support and accountability, and course correcting.
We’ll follow the iterative and experimental process called the BCM method, so there’s no need to be perfect (because none of us are, right?)
We’ll assess how the things that you’re currently thinking and doing are serving you.
STEP 1
You’ll envision a clear picture of what you’d like to happen in your future. The sky’s the limit here!
STEP 2
We’ll design a plan to help you go from where you currently are to where you’d like to be in the way that seems best to you.
STEP 3
You’ll implement the plan in your daily life and notice any challenges that come up. Which brings us back to. . . step one.
STEP 4
I want you to live in a WORLD where. . .
You feel confidence about birth instead of fear or dread
it’s not your fault that you feel those things, the images and stories that we’ve heard about birth our whole lives aren’t helpful (but they can be changed)
Expecting mamas aren’t paralyzed by decisions
most likely, you’ve never thought about some of them until you were pregnant, and that’s totally okay, we can go through them together and you can relax about it
You can celebrate your motherhood journey for the blessing that it is
it’s true that there are a lot of challenges, but let’s manage those as well as we can so that you can enjoy this special season of life
Pregnancy doesn’t mean that you have to be miserable for nine months
Real talk: there are a lot of physical symptoms that come with it, but there’s SO MUCH that we can do to make it easier for ourselves and feel better on a daily basis

“Leslie is an amazing coach! . . . She always stressed the importance of listening to your body, which is, I think, one of the best things to have in a coach. If there was an injury or anything, she always would recommend rest and not to hurt myself. She was always encouraging me! I could not have done it without her! I would recommend her in a heartbeat! Anyone, whether beginner or advanced, can benefit from having a coach, and Leslie is definitely a great one!”
Extra reasons it’s so unique
DEEP HEALTH APPROACH
We’re not talking about your classic exercise program here, this is about deep health. Which means we’re supporting other areas of your life as well and promoting balance. (They all go together anyway, right?)
CONTINUITY OF SUPPORT
Because we’ll be addressing many different pregnancy and birth related topics, you’ll have a cohesive plan that connects your birth preferences, to how you exercise and eat, to your mental preparation.
CHRISTIAN FOCUS
Physical health is so important, but ultimately our spiritual health is the most important thing. We’ll always be putting that first before we make any additional commitments for your well-being, a rich spiritual live is the foundation.
BEHAVIOR CHANGE STRATEGIES
All of the ideas in the world don’t matter if we never implement them, that’s why we’ll be combining all of the information with strategies that develop motivation and promote taking action.
Some postpartum recovery clients rebuilding their core strength to support their lifestyles.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
2-Hour Initial Consult
This is when we’ll develop your vision for your birth and discover your concerns around it. We’ll work together to find the best options for you and then create your birth plan.
Additionally, we can discuss what you’re looking for in a provider and birth location if you haven’t already chosen.
Monthly 40-minute Intention Setting Sessions
In these sessions, we’ll create intentions for the month that include activities to help you move toward your vision. Through a series of explorative questions, we’ll figure out your best actions. This way there’s no guessing, you’ll have concrete steps to take that are helping you to your overall vision.
Weekly 20-minute Check-Ins
In these quick calls, we’ll go over your intentions and make any quick adjustments needed to overcome challenges that you’ve had.
And we’ll also be able to pivot for unforeseen things that come up (because this is pregnancy, and they always do).
On-Call from 37-Weeks Until Your Baby is Born
I’ll be available via text and voice calls as you’re nearing your due date to help you as labor begins.
I’ll be available from the onset of labor until breastfeeding (or bottle feeding) have been successful, and it’s time for mama to get some rest.
BONUS: 60-Minute Postpartum Meeting
This is the time for you to relate your birth story and ask any early postpartum questions you have about your recovery or basic infant care.
It’s a special time after the baby is born that you, mama, get to be the focus for a while.
This is a great fit for you if. . .
You want to be as healthy as you can for yourself and your baby, but you’re not sure where to start
You like having someone to talk through all of your questions, anxieties, and concerns (and you’d rather that person know about all the pregnancy things)
You’d like more frequent check-ins and accountability than most packages offer
You need to boost your confidence with the whole giving birth thing, especially if you’re a first time mom
You’ve been pregnant before, but something didn’t go as you’d hope (whether in pregnancy, birth, or recovery), and you’d like to do things differently this time
You love the idea of a doula, but you’d rather not have another person in your birth space
Your birth partner wants to be the main support person in the room with you (but would benefit from having someone to call for questions and coping techniques)

In our sessions, we can cover all sorts of topics
based on what you need
Mindset and faith go together - We often hear about mindset work, and the foundation to that is building up of your faith so that you’re filling your mind with good things
Manage fears of childbirth - There are lots of tools to manage a mama-to-be’s concerns around labor and delivery
Let go of past experiences - Some moms need to unpack past experiences in order to let go and prepare themselves emotionally for the next one
Cultivate practices that promote your mental, emotional, and spiritual health - This is as important to your overall health and well-being as physically caring for yourself
Experience the benefits of exercise in pregnancy - Healthy maternal weight gain, improved placental development (first trimester), lower rates of depression, and lower rates of medical interventions and maternal exhaustion at birth.
More comfort throughout pregnancy - All the physiological changes in pregnancy can create aches and pains, but the proper exercises can greatly alleviate this
Create your routine - A routine that works for your life is crucial if you want to be consistent (and I know you do)
Choose the right variation for you - We can work through any questions you have about exercises that aren’t feeling quite right and find the most effective version for you (and that often changes throughout pregnancy)
Prioritize nutrient rich foods for pregnancy - Lack of certain nutrients can even mimic perinatal mood disorders like depression (quality nutrition is a big deal)
Manage weight gain - You NEED to gain weight to nourish yourself and your baby, and when you eat well, your body will gain just what it needs (when it needs it)
Improve your energy - Certain foods can help you to have more sustained energy (and also reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, which can be a factor in where you give birth and your practitioner)
Postpartum prep - You'll have greater nutrient needs in early postpartum than in pregnancy, but you'll be busy and tired, so plan ahead to make the transition easier.
Sleep better - We all know that after baby we’ll have some sleep disruptions, but many are surprised to find that it can be elusive in pregnancy too - good sleep hygiene and positioning can help alleviate that
Breathwork - This is one of the most under used and simple ways to release tension, relieve your stretching belly, calm your mind, and practice for labor. It’s amazing!
Mange your stress levels - Implement techniques into your daily life to reduce anxiety, which can reduce hormones like cortisol and potentially headaches and more as well (which is great since most pain relievers aren’t an option)
Give yourself rest and recovery time - Your body is going through a lot, a recovery protocol can ensure that you don’t overdo anything and have energy for your day
All of the lifestyle practices above - What happens throughout pregnancy has a huge effect on how your labor and delivery go, and preparation starts with your lifestyle from the first trimester
Childbirth education - We can go through any questions that you have about the process in addition to your other classes that you may take
Create your birth plan - You get to plan for the experience that you desire, and decide how you’ll manage anything that doesn’t go as you plan so that you feel completely informed and ready for your birth
Consider early postpartum - Once your baby is born, you won’t want to think about this, so have a postpartum plan can be HUGE in having a smooth transition into motherhood
Gain peace of mind with on-call support - I’ll be available to answer questions and give you reassurance as you near your big day
Help your birth partner before you get to your birth location - Your partner can check in with me and get assistance in helping manage early labor
Get guidance through coping techniques - We can jump on a video and I can coach your partner through administering coping techniques (we will have planned some of these BEFORE labor)
Encouragement and decision support - We can text or talk (whatever feels good for you) to be encouraged and to think through any choices that you’ll make that aren’t emergency situations
Answers even before you ask
Is this the same as having a doula?
No. There is some overlap in the format of some of our prenatal sessions (and I am a doula). I will be “on call” for you around your due date for virtual support. But I will be giving the mother and birth partner tips for coping, creating comfort, and helping labor progress as I will not be there in person. Most doula support is in person.
What if I already have a doula?
Great! I’m thrilled that you have a birth team! I can work alongside your doula and might even make it easier for you to have productive prenatal meetings with her. You may decide that you’d like to have another resource around your birth (or you may ask about a discount code for mamas-to-be who’ve already hired a doula and won’t need me for the on-call time)
Is there a meal and exercise plan?
No and yes! You’ll have access to my prenatal workouts designed by pregnancy week. Most clients supplement that with walking, swimming, or other aerobic type training.
There is no meal plan (only dietitians can write those), but in many cases, they’re not as helpful as they seem because of cravings, aversions, and changes in appetite that are inherent to pregnancy. Flexible guidelines are the name of the game!
What happens if I were to experience a loss?
First, I would be praying for you and willing to sit and listen. In those moments, we often need someone to listen and be okay with being uncomfortable and sad with us without trying to fix or cheer up. The Bible tells us to “mourn with those who mourn,” and I promise to give any bereaved mama the space to do that if she chooses.
If that shortens the time that we work together, then anyone who has paid early will receive a prorated refund for the remaining unused time.
How early in pregnancy should I sign up?
When you see a pink line! : ) Seriously though, I believe that we should be starting childbirth education and creating a birth plan ASAP so that we’re sure to find providers and birth locations that give us the best shot at our desired birth experience. Plus, exercise is SUPER beneficial in the first trimester (however you can get it) when the placenta is forming.
What if I’m planning to get an epidural?
This program is great for that! Laboring longer at home is one of the best ways to avoid a c-section, so as long as you’re feeling good and coping well it’s much easier to stay home longer.
Even with an epidural there are different positions to facilitate labor progress and potentially different pushing positions as well. Additionally, pelvic floor and core control will still help you to birth easier (and possibly faster. . .).
Basically, there’s LOTS that we can cover and do to help get your body even if you’re planning to get an epidural.
What if I go on bedrest?
You may pause our sessions for OB/midwife prescribed bedrest. However, some women like to continue as that is often a higher stress scenario, and they like to continue sessions and doing mindset work and getting encouragement through what can be a very frustrating experience.
What if I give birth in the middle of the program?
You can continue to use your sessions postpartum! Early recovery is a wonderful time to have consistent check-ins with someone focused on you and your well-being. This is what I do, so messy houses and noisy babies don’t phase me. : ) I love supporting moms as they adjust to a new family member.
Shouldn’t I be investing in my baby and not myself right now?
You’re a mom, so this line of reasoning makes total sense! BUT, the truth is that investing in your own health while you’re growing your child IS investing in your child. Study after study shows the importance of the mom’s lifestyle in pregnancy. There’s even evidence that your baby will prefer the foods that you regularly eat! So remember, what’s good for mama is good for baby.
